Borno: 7 killed, five injured on their way to APC rally in Abuja

Seven people were on Wednesday reportedly killed in a ghastly motor accident, while 5 others were injured following a ghastly motor accident which occured along Damaturu-Potiskum road in Yobe State.
Confirming the incident to newsmen, the Sector Commader, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Yobe State, Alhaji Yusuf Garba said he got to know about the incident through a Good Samaritan and that he immediately mobilized his rescue team to the scene of the incident.
The Commander said the accident was caused by a head-on-collision involving a Volkswagen Saloon car and a Honda, while both vehicles were on high speed.
He said the incident, which occurred at about 10:15 am, claimed the life of a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hajiya Saratu Ibrahim and 6 others while they were on their way to attend the APC convention in Abuja, slated for Thursday 12th to 14th June 2014.
He added that over N90,000 was recovered from the scene of the incident, as well as some personal belongings of the victims, pointing out that the injured persons have been taken to Hospital in Damaturu for treatment.
