The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that the Super Eagles would get $10,000 as a winning bonus at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
This has been revealed by a spokesperson of the Federation, Ademola Olajiire, in Abuja on June 11, 2014, Wednesday.
He emphasised that the amounts have not changed from the previously approved sums for winning.
Olajiire revealed that the players shall get $10,000 as a winning bonus, $5,000 for draws. The team would get no bonus in case of a loss.
The daily allowance is fixed and amounts to $100.
The progress of the Super Eagles, in case they advance to the knock out round, would be rewarded on the following basis: $10,000 for passing the group stage, $12,500 for LAST16 and $15,000 for 1/4 finals. In case the team reaches the semi-finals, the bonus would equal $20,000.
It would be added that the Eagles' players have previously demanded their World Cup appearance fees, threatened the NFF officials with boycotting the first game of the Mundial.
The players demanded the truth on the whereabouts of $8m (N1.2billion), granted to the NFF by the The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), after Nigeria had advanced to the main tournament in Brazil.
However, the NFF claimed it had only received $1million.
The Super Eagles' captain, Joseph Yobo, has explained that the players deserved to get their dues.
"We don't play for Nigeria because of money, but when you work somewhere, you are entitled to certain things. You can't deprive players from asking for their rights, this is normal."
He further added that as a captain of the team, the happiness of his players depends on him and is a priority for him.
However, in his Wednesday's remarks, Olajire refused to comment on when the players would get their world cup appearance fee
