The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, will be closed again on Saturday, the second time in one week, for another round of runway repairs, the spokesperson for Nigeria's aviation agencies, Yakubu Dati has said.
The airport, one of Nigeria's busiest, would be shut down for another 30 hours between Saturday, July 12 and Monday, July 14, Dati said in a statement issued in Abuja, on Tuesday.
"The second phase for the rehabilitation of the remaining section of the runway will hold for 30 hours between Saturday 12 (2300 UTC) and Monday 14 (0500 UTC), 2014,'' the statement said.
It said the rehabilitation was being carried out in two phases to minimise the inconveniences the runway closure would have on air passengers and aircraft operators.
