DSS arrests native doctor for murder in Anambra

Department of State Security, Anambra State Command has arrested a Native Doctor, Sunday Asika (Aka Aboy Ekwensu) and an accomplice, Uchenna Ibeh for the murder of one John Nwosu, from Ahiazu Mbaise local government area (LGA) of Imo State,
Before his gruesome death in November last year, Nwosu was a vulcanizer resident at Uga, Aguata LGA of Anambra State.
Parading the suspects before journalists at the DSS office in Awka on Wednesday, State Director of the DSS, Alex Okeiyi, said an English double barrel gun with serial number 8773180 believed to have been used by the Native Doctor to kill the deceased, along with 10 live cartridges and a locally made handcuff, were recovered from his expansive shrine.
Okeiyi said investigation showed that the deceased was an intermediary between his brother in South Africa (name withheld) and the native doctor.

"The brother had sent him to the native doctor for a charm to make his business in South Africa flourish, but the charm seemed not to have been effective. The development forced the brother to demand refund of the money he paid for the charm, except it was made to perform.
"This was the mission of Nwosu in the house of the Native Doctor, when he was murdered and secretly buried," Okeiyi said.
According to the Anambra DSS boss, Ibe (accomplice) confessed that the native doctor had asked the deceased to stay back for a sacrifice on the fateful night, only for him to shoot him at about 11.30pm and buried the corpse in an already dug pit, as they headed to an unknown destination.
Okeiyi said Ibe further confessed that the native doctor ordered the dismantling of the deceased motorcycle, some of which parts, especially the crank case with serial number QLI62FMJ-2*7D407886*, he (accomplice) used to repair his faulty CG motorcycle with registration number Enugu QP 782 UWH, while others were thrown into a stream to erase any evidence that the deceased visited him.
"On his part the native doctor confessed to conspiring with Ibeh to kill the deceased, because he threatened to run away with the money the brother from South Africa was to send for the charm.
"On the 7th of July, 2014, a Homicide team from the State Police Command led by a pathologist, exhumed the remains of the deceased in a shallow grave in Nkpologwu community" Okeiyi said.
He revealed that the Native Doctor has been a terror in Nkpologwu Community, adding that available information indicated that he has been providing spiritual protection to high profile criminals from the state and its neighbours.
Noting that the arrest should serve as a warning to like-minded persons who presume they are untouchable, Okeiyi appreciated the assistance of the State Commissioner of Police, Usman Gwary, in the investigations and the courage of his operatives, who conducted a search in the shrine of the native doctor to recover the gun.
