SAD!: Patience Jonathan's Nephew Dies In a Hotel In Abuja (Photo)

A renowned lawyer, Festus Kenyamo has written a petition to the Inspector General of Police following the death of a man, reportedly a nephew of Nigeria's First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, in a swimming pool at Agura Hotels, Abuja.
The 31-year-old Christopher Onoriode Akpomowei Awin, reportedly drowned to death in the swimming pool after returning from a party organised by the Ijaw Students' Association of the University of Abuja.
Representing late Awin's family, Kenyamo, questioned the circumstances leading to Christopher's death, making it known that an autopsy, which was carried out on the dead body by a certified consultant pathologist, reveals that the deceased could have survived had help arrived early enough.
In the petition, the renowned lawyer argues that the Agura hotel staff acted in a suspicious manner, querying why the two lifeguards on duty at the pool left their duty post on flimsy excuses at the same time. The hotel which has a busy Bar beside the swimming pool, according to Keyamo, did not also salvage the situation. Inspite of the expected attendant and staff presence, the body of the victim was not found until over one hour after he had drowned.
