The student's dressing View Metro gathered was prompted by a bet
he previously had with some guys in his class that he could wear a wrapper to school if the guys could stake N20,000.
He took the challenge and on Friday stepped into campus in the wrap attires and created quite a scene nearly causing a stampede as students rushed to catch a glimpse of his peculiar dresscode.
As events turned rowdy, the noise eventually attracted the University security officers to the scene and the student was grabbed and thoroughly battered by the security men who used even heavy logs of wood to pummel the student as if he was a common criminal.
The assault on the student which turned utterly brutish and barbaric nearly triggered a riot in the university, as students who had actually been enjoying the wrapper spectacle condemned the brutality visited on their colleague.
