Ok. How do I start this already?
Its obviously about upcoming artists, you wanna become a successful artist? Good!! Who doesn't? The fact still remains that relatively speaking, only a few do become successful.
About 5%.
So what happened to the remaining 95%?
Let me tell you what happened.
1. GREED HAPPENED: Ok, so you're an upcoming artists and you have dreams of making it BIG in the entertainment industry, Ride big cars, crash a Porsche and buy a new one next week (Wizkid tinz) and all that Cool!!! Not wise, but cool anyway and somehow though, you don't wanna spend AT ALL.
Always like:
"My Boss abeg help your guy. My single just drop. Help me put am for your blog free of charge. One day, if God bless me, I go repay you in the future somehow."
That mind-set sends a bad signal of you, NOBODY loves a broke-ass. Just saying even if you're better than Banky W & can murder M.I on a rap beat, if you don't pay small dimes & chips, you'll only be hurting yourself.
No serious blogger that matter would really assist you in a way you NEED assisting. So please, abeg try pay & help yourself when you need stuff. Of course, your Blogger pals can help. But when it comes to ushering what you have to the world, you'll have to pay. Bloggers too have NEEDS.
Ok then, what happened still?
2. NO OR BAD DEMO HAPPENED.
Banky W once talked about how he met Wizkid. He listened to his Demos & knew he had to sign him. His Demos were that good.
MORAL: Have a good demo. What's an upcoming artist without a good demo? A JOKER.
Some upcoming artists don't even have demos. Its quite funny. So what am I gonna listen to from you? Or am I gonna pay for your STUDIO TIME? Smh. Of course, its not easy, but this is the line you chose & you have to stick to it. Get good Demos for yourself. Not just one. As many as possible. It'll help you someday.
CAUTION: Please, make your demos little in size.
Nobody wants to download a song that is 15mb in size let alone that of an Upcoming Artist.
Get it?
OK. So what else Happened?
3. A WACKY NAME HAPPENED.
An Upcoming artist who happened to be a friend had an artist friend named, guess?
BLOODLINE.
I was like, really? Dear God why? Please, choose a cool trendy name. Names abound. Just choose one abeg. Get a cool simple name that everyone would remember. Everyone would remember M.I, Ice Prince, Wizkid, Davido. Not everyone would remember PATORANKING. Point taken right?
And what else?
4. A BEEF SONG HAPPENED
You already understand. Many people want to start a career beefing another already made artist. Wrong move!!!
Many would say that Ruggedman did just that. Well, you're not RuggedMan.
I saw a song titled "No Danger" and another titled "F*ck 2face" and stuff like that. I still don't know who sang those songs even with their attractive titles. The funny thing is that, you want to stab hangs you'll need to cling on to as you grow up as an artist.
Kelly Handsome beefed M.I and look what happened. He was quite Big before he did that. He wasn't upcoming, yet he was affected much.
Now you. You won't really get far if you start off your music career calling everybody out. It just tend to show you're desperate. Bad move. So no Beef songs please. Agreed?
Last thing that Happened.
5. PRIDE HAPPENED.
Humility is key. Be humble. Greet all. Respect all. Listen to all. But in the end, make your personal moves, your personal decisions and make them well. Do take care. Till I see you next time. And try to do all these.
