1. Stain control
Lemons are also excellent stain removers. Just rub half a lemon on the stain and allow the garment to sit overnight. Wash it as usual and you will see the stain has vanished.
2. Natural disinfectant
A tablespoon of lemon juice acts as a natural disinfectant to rid your favourite fruits and vegetables from pesticides.
3. Kitchen sanitizer
Once in a while to sanitize your kitchen cutting board, just rub the cut side of half a lemon before washing it as usual.
4. Fresh and green
If you have soggy lettuce in the fridge, just add it to a bowl of cold water containing juice of half a lemon and refrigerate it for an hour before removing them and drying the leaves completely before use.
5. To remove foul smell
Lemon rinds help remove odours from the refrigerator. Leave them overnight and much better is to keep sliced lemons all the time in the fridge.
6. Pest control
If you have a pest problem at home, just keep slices of lemon slices near cracks, window sills, doorways and holes to drive away ants, roaches and fleas. The scent just drives those insects away.
7. Asthma rescue
Having two tbsp of lemon juice before each meal and before retiring can reduce asthma symptoms.
8. Shining brass and copper
A mix of lemon juice and salt acts as a polish for brass or copper utensils. Rub it on the utensils and then wash with warm water and see them shining.
9. Milky white
You can make sure white vegetables stay white while cooking by squeezing a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice on them before heating.
10. To remove mineral deposits
To remove mineral deposits that build up in your pressure cooker or tea kettle, just fill it up with water, add a handful of thin lemon-peel slices and bring to a boil. Once cool, just drain and rinse in tap water and your vessels will be shining and as good as new.
