So i stumbled on this song 'Another Day in Hell' by Weirdz. First im a huge fan of weirdz, ive been following him from the days of color blind i think. I must give him kudos and ill tell you why. As a irish based singer who came back to Nigeria, i have watched him transit from hip-hop to Afro pop just to fit the Nigerian market. To be honest, both did not really work out, but one thing was evident even in his confusion state: his sound was distinct and he only needed to really discover himself. Fortunately, the best management for that came along and rejuvenated his sound just as they had done for his fellow label mate Brymo.
With the release of his EP, we saw a different Weirdz and i knew he was reborn. The fusion of high spirituality and consciousness was the first noticeable element. It was as if he was in touch with a greater element yet the rendition was accessible even to the common man.
Another Day in Hell depicts a story of love gone sour. For this single off his coming album, you cant help but love the sound! Who knew reggae could be sooo cool?! It would be disrespectful to classify this tune as just reggae because i thought there were also elements of soul and Rnb in it. Weird right? Well tell that to weirdz.
'The prettier they come; the more dangerous they are' the philosophical lines of this conscious song tells you all-Finally content is coming back to Nigerian Music
