Mavins ‘Won Da Mo’ is a Worthy End of Year Anthem

 IMG (1).jpeg

For the first time ever, all of Mavin assembled to create one of 2022 end of year anthems. Won Da Mo is a 4 minute victory lap that re-emphasizes the sheer talent of the Mavin Roster and their incredible impact on Afrobeats this year. The single comes off the back of the all star album and Concert announcement by the entertainment powerhouse. The All Star album, titled Chapter X will be the first compilation project released by Mavin Records since the release of the classic, Solar Plexus, in 2012,

Won Da Mo opens with a prolific Rema in full flex. Backed up by synths, rock guitars and bass drums, the superstar spits about personal and group winnings. On the pre- chorus, he introduces us to the braggadocious street lingo ‘Won Da Mo’ which translates to ‘The Know Us’.

Crayon, the self-styled ‘Captain Hook’ seeks the divine on the chorus. His supplication is continuous blessings for the squad. Next up is Boy Spyce & Bayanni, who adds colour to the already impressive lineup. While Boy Spyce buys the Azul, the latest Mavin, Bayanni pulls up in a brand new Beamer!

Magixx shows up by admitting the sonic brilliance of the group. Rapper, Ladipoe reiterates the success of rap in Africa by using himself as a potent case study. The leader of the revival is getting the bag and sticking to his craft. Ayra Starr is energetic on the track. Her verse stands out with the confidence that had seen her rise to become one of Africa’s female stars in every global conversation. Johnny Drille brings the song to a fitting crescendo by expatiating on the undeniability of the squad and giving us a sign for what’s coming.

Won Da Mo peaked on the Zenith of  Apple Music Charts in Nigeria. The song, and it’s precursor, Overdose exemplifies what the label is up to. It gives a sneak peak into the greatness that should be expected on the Chapter X Album.
