The honorable candidate for the House of Assembly for Ibadan South-West Constituency II of the Oyo State House of Assembly in the forthcoming election, Hon. Akinsete Olakunle is calling for calm and patience among his constituents and citizens in general.

This was issued in a statement made available by his media team this morning, he identified with the suffering of the masses which is due to associated fuel scarcity, inflation, and insecurity leading to unwarranted frustrations. What everyone is undergoing due to the currency swap and other implementations of new monetary policies is terrifying and undesirable.

He reiterated, "regardless of whatever the Federal Government intends to achieve with this cash swap, I feel that they have done so in the wrong way and possibly at the wrong time. Making other dominations available at the POS machines and Bank counters ahead the of the swap would have eased in business transactions among individuals and organizational sectors of our economy"

We are currently experiencing protests across cities and it is therefore very important for us to appeal to everyone to be patient, law-abiding and as peaceful as possible. Having such protests if not carefully monitored can lead to unrest and fuel the fire for insecurity without solving any of the problems we are currently experiencing. Anti-democratic forces, looters and urchins are looking out for ways
to wreak more havoc on innocent civilians.

The Purpose of having this process done in the first place has been defeated due to the continuous shift in dates for the swap without making provisions for new naira notes. He then used the medium to call on the Apex bank to allow the currency swap to continue to run without having a deadline put to it as it is being done in other countries.
